Evelyn Rainey lives very quietly in a small southern town with her dog, three cats, and thousands of home-grown tadpoles and frogs (don't ask). She spends her time in this incarnation teaching, writing, and belly dancing.

Her online presence includes Evelyn-Rainey.com, WritingRainey.blogspot.com, Facebook (WritingRainey) and Twitter (EvelynRainey).

Her first novel, Minna Pegeen (ISBN 9781935361381 Comfort Publishing) is a fantasy about a quest that goes wrong. The science fiction Bedina’s War (ISBN 9781936695881 Comfort Publishing), her second book, follows three generations after a war. Perky’s Books & Gifts (ISBN 9781939065377 Bedlam Press) is her third novel. This urban fantasy began to take form while she worked at Books-a-Million for six years as a part-time paperback specialist and Red Badge. Her fourth novel, The Island Remains (June 2014 Whiskey Creek Press), is a historical fiction set during the last year of WWII on a fictitious island in the English Channel. She has also been published in anthologies, magazines, columns, and newspapers. She was a guest author at the Carolina Renaissance Festival 2012 and will be one at ALT*Con April 2014.
She facilitates Writers for All Seasons. She has been an educator for thirty-one years with degrees in Journalism, Gifted Ed, ESOL, Middle Curriculum, Early Childhood and Elementary Ed. Outside of the school system, she is an herbalist, a singer, belly-dancer and she loves to do book-signings.
